A Detroit man was arrested and charged on Tuesday as part of an ongoing drug distribution investigation.
On October 15, 2024, Knoxville Police Department Organized Crime Unit detectives and members of the Drug-Related Death Task, which included KPD, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation personnel, conducted a search warrant at 900 W. Oldham Avenue. The search warrant originated from an investigation into a series of suspected overdose deaths that occurred in and around the Lonsdale area in 2023.
The search warrant resulted in the recovery of over 30 grams of cocaine, a gram of heroin, two marijuana plants, and over $17,000 in cash.
Sean Johnson, 57 of Detroit, Michigan, was taken into custody and charged with maintaining a dwelling for drug purposes and manufacture/sale/delivery of schedule I, II and VI narcotics. A 43-year-old woman was also taken into custody for failure to appear on a previous theft charge.
The search warrant was assisted by members of the KPD Special Operations Squad, West District officers and Special Crimes Unit detectives.
Detectives are continuing to investigate additional criminal activity that is allegedly connected to the W. Oldham address that was the subject of Tuesday’s search warrant.
